Rock Prairie Worship

At Rock Prairie we want to make Christ known TRULY through expositional preaching and worship. On the topic of worship we read in Psalm 29:1-2

“Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.”

We understand from Scripture that we are commanded to worship the Lord.  And one of the ways we accomplish this as a church is by singing together in corporate worship.

The key verse for how we go about this is found in Colossians 3:16.

“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

As we recently taught in RP Kids, the way we obey this verse is to “sing God’s Word to ourselves, to each other, and to God.”  We can teach and encourage ourselves as well as those around us in the body of Christ by singing the truth of God to each other, and of course we worship God in song according to what He testifies about Himself. And so Rock Prairie Worship is a team of singers, musicians, and AV volunteers who serve the church through music and technology to help our congregation sing together in worship.

How can you get involved?

Email Pastor David and set up a time to get together and get to know each other. You can know ahead of time that we require people to faithfully attend our church for 6 months before they are able to serve. During a meeting there will be a time to share your walk with Christ and be able to hear what Rock Prairie Worship is all about, along with expectations for the team. For singers and musicians this will also include an audition so we can get familiar with where you are at musically. We look forward to meeting you!
