I grew up in Sellersburg Indiana, and attended college and seminary right across the Ohio River in Louisville, KY. For college, I went to Boyce College and did my M. Div at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. As I was finishing my M. Div., I met my wife, Nicole. Funny enough, due to my younger sister playing a practical joke on me, I actually met Nicole on E-harmony. Thankfully, what they meant as a joke has turned out to be one of the biggest blessings in my life. Nicole and I got married in 2018, and now have two kids, Marcus and Olivia.
Before coming back home to Indiana and joining Rock Prairie, the Lord allowed me to serve at churches in Texas, New Jersey, and Alabama. Helping disciples of Jesus learn how to grow in their walk with Jesus while also teaching others to do the same is my greatest passion in ministry. Specifically, I love to help people learn how to embrace growth and change. I even wrote my Ph.D. dissertation (from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary), on how Christian leaders can guide people who have experienced complex trauma through change.
My son, Marcus, is on the autism spectrum. So, I am also passionate about helping support children with special needs. My hope and prayer is that I can help make church a welcoming place for children with special needs as well as helping entire families grow in their walk with Jesus.
When I find a spare moment, I enjoys making barbeque in my backyard. Especially brisket (Texas does have the best BBQ 😉 or figuring out another unique way to make the “perfect” cup of coffee.
